Computer Science Intern for Device Software Integration
We have a vacancy for an intern, with a background in computer science, to make our haptic technology compatible with standard everyday applications, such as Google Maps, or virtual reality software, such as video games.
Project description
You will be joining a start-up company that strives to bring the virtual world to life through touch while making it more accessible to all. We are striving to achieve this through our advanced responsive materials, based on liquid crystal polymers, that can be used to produce haptic films for displays and wearables. Our current goal is to make our haptic wearables compatible with our common, everyday applications such as haptic cues for navigation in Google Maps or more advanced functions for haptic feedback in videos games or other use-cases with virtual reality headsets. You will join a team where your work will enable our material to be integrated with conventional devices and realty drive the commercialization of our technology.

- Educated on computer science; experience in electrical design, prototyping and robotic functions is much appreciated. Experience in an electrical design workspace or laboratory environment; experience working with computer-aided design (CAD) software, and knowledge of KiCad, Python and C is much appreciated.
- Knowledge of driving software for virtual reality systems or navigational software; experience with AI is appreciated.
- Ability to communicate well with peers from different scientific backgrounds. Ability to work independently within a dynamic team and multidisciplinary research environment.
